#CPC26 Review

CONFERENCE REVIEW • BIRMINGHAM • OCTOBER 2026

At Conference 2026, the Conservative Christian Fellowship brought faith and public service together through worship, prayer and thoughtful debate. From our exhibition stand and opening church service to three prayer breakfasts addressing issues before Parliament, CCF gathered Christians from across the country to encourage one another and reflect on how faith should shape public life.

Thank you to everyone who supported our exhibition stand at Conservative Party Conference. Your generosity helped us create a welcoming presence in Birmingham, where we met CCF members from across the UK, renewed friendships and welcomed new supporters. Throughout the conference, we saw unity, optimism and a shared commitment to Christian service.

Worship and Fellowship

The CCF Conference 2026 opening church service, held at St Martin's in the Bull Ring, brought together MPs, delegates and members of the Birmingham community. The Birmingham Community Gospel Choir and Peace Avenue Praise Project led powerful worship, while the Revd Dr Katie Stock preached. Hamish Badenoch and Martin Vickers MP gave the Bible readings.

We are grateful to Green Pastures, the Christian housing and homelessness charity, for generously sponsoring the service, and to Christians Against Poverty for joining us. Refreshments afterwards provided an opportunity to strengthen connections among those serving in politics, churches, charities and the local community.

Prayer and Public Policy

Our three prayer breakfasts combined prayer for our nation and its leaders with focused discussion of major issues facing Parliament.

Monday with CARE

On Monday, our breakfast with CARE examined proposals to criminalise the purchase of sex and strengthen protection for women affected by prostitution and sexual exploitation. Rebecca Smith MP joined a searching discussion on challenging demand, tackling exploitation and placing women's dignity at the heart of public policy.

Tuesday with Open Doors and Aid to the Church in Need

Tuesday's breakfast, held with Open Doors and Aid to the Church in Need, focused on the persecution of Christians worldwide. Rt Hon Wendy Morton MP spoke, and the panel highlighted the need to defend freedom of religion or belief and ensure that persecuted Christians are heard.

Wednesday with Right to Life

On Wednesday, our breakfast with Right to Life included contributions from Martin Vickers MP. Discussion centred on assisted dying legislation and the decriminalisation of abortion, with particular attention to human dignity, the protection of vulnerable people and the responsibilities of legislators.

Strong attendance and thoughtful contributions demonstrated the value of bringing parliamentarians, Christian organisations and members together for serious discussion grounded in faith and prayer.

A Growing Fellowship

Throughout the conference, our exhibition stand was a lively meeting place. Members shared their experiences, delegates discovered more about CCF and new supporters came forward. These conversations are vital to building an active fellowship and strengthening relationships between Christians and the Conservative Party. Our sincere thanks go to the volunteers whose dedication made the programme possible. Through long days and countless practical tasks, they served with warmth and good humour.

We are equally grateful to our speakers, partner organisations and everyone whose prayers and financial support sustained our work. We left Birmingham encouraged by stronger relationships, new members and a renewed determination to continue impacting the public square and building bridges.

There is much to build on as we support Christians in political life and promote public service shaped by faith, compassion and conviction. Recordings of the panel discussions will be available through the CCF website, where you can also find details of our work, membership and forthcoming events.

The CCF Christmas Carol service will be held on Wednesday 2 December at Methodist Central Hall, Westminster, at 7.00 pm.

Thank you once again for standing with us and making this work possible.
